Painting Parties
I originally intended to give painting classes called "How to Paint Without Talent" as a way to teach people how easy and fun it is to create your own paintings as home decor!
I painted these for our house:
I've since realized that teaching isn't my bag, so we just started Painting Parties. A few of us get together with our "inspiration" pieces, pictures or patterns, we run to Hobby Lobby to buy the paint and canvasses, then I help each one get started on their painting. We also learn about mixing colors if the one you bought isn't just right.
Just take one step at a time and suddenly you're surprised at what you can do!
Look what these ladies did...

Trees make April happy, so she painted this adorable tree inspired by a pattern on a piece of scrapbooking paper.

Jennifer wanted hers to have a sandpaper look, so she mixed sand (from Hobby Lobby) into her paint. It had a neat earthy look. Her inspiration was a photo of a tile in a Silpada Jewelry catalog.
Kathryn painted this for her formal dining room. She put sand in her paint for the center design. Her inspiration was also a photo of a tile from a Silpada catalog.
It's really a fun excuse to get together, be creative and let the guys watch the kids!
